The days seem to pass by so quickly and quietly. In a flash almost two weeks had passed. In the time that you had to yourself you thought a lot about your mother. You wondered if she could see you; if she was watching over you from where ever she was in heaven. You wondered if she thought that you were in good hands or if she missed you.

Ciel had been busy with clients and business matters. Some days they would come to the manor. Other days he would have to leave to go and meet someone. Rarely did you see him at all these two weeks. You didn’t need Ciel to tell you to keep yourself hidden when guests came to the mansion. You had a ruby red eye that wasn’t natural and scars that covered just about every visible part of your body.
If someone saw you they’d think you had escaped from the local freak show. Maybe that’s where you could have ended up.  A freak shipped off to the local circus where people would laugh at you and beat you. Or even worse maybe you would have spent the rest of your days with the men in white coats. To live out the rest of your life with them continuing their experiments on you. You were lucky enough if you found a patch of skin that didn’t have a mark on it; after a while they would have started sewing skin onto you that wasn’t your own just to keep you together. Like a rag doll.

But instead, Ciel saved you. He came and rescued you for no reason that made sense to you. He didn’t know you. He didn’t owe you or your family anything. When you were little you had heard of the Phantomhives but that didn’t mean you ever thought you would come into contact with one of them. Ciel Phantomhive himself found you and saved you from the eternal darkness. He was your savior. You owed him your life.

Even so with all that knowledge, you still didn’t know what you were doing here. What was your purpose of being here? Why did he keep you? He didn’t tell you to take up a job as a maid or a cook. Instead you roamed the halls during your free time as if you were a ghost. Invisible to the world as you explored the manor that seemed larger than life. You were Alice and this was your Wonderland.

During your two free weeks Sebastian brought you your meals and he was really the only human contact you had. He wasn’t a very chatty one though. Bringing you breakfast, lunch, and dinner was just about all he did besides saying a casual “Enjoy,” every now and again. You wanted to ask him what the master’s plans for you were, but you knew he wouldn’t tell you even if he did know.

You had been silent here for way too long. But you had nowhere else to go. Nothing else to do. What came next?

On the fifth day in August you spoke to Ciel for the first time in forever it seemed. He was on his way out to meet with yet another client or so you thought. He was putting on his coat in the foyer of the manor and you spotted him there with his ever present butler from your place on the staircase. You crouched down and hid behind the large banister, hoping it would disguise you since you were so high and far away.

“Does the Queen ask for this underground group to be terminated?” Ciel’s voice was stiff and his words were emotionless.

Terminated? You tilted your head at that. Was he speaking of killing people?

Sebastian buttoned up the younger male’s coat and smoothed out the collar so it was wrinkle free. “By any means necessary she says my lord.”

Your brows furrowed as your brain tried to make since of the conversation you were overhearing. But you didn’t have much time to process before you heard Ciel bark your name.

You shot up, standing on command as if you were a trained dog. You stared down at the two men who were now looking up at you. Your eyes were wide with worry. What if Ciel kicked you out for this?

What if he decided he was wrong in saving you and sent you back? What if he had you killed. What if… What if…

“Get down here,” Ciel commanded. Annoyance was written all over his face and his eyes were closed as he waited impatiently. Taking no spare time, you flew down the steps almost tripping over the last few.

“Y-Yes sir?” Your voice was small and you sounded like a wounded animal. You kept your gaze to the ground, shame filling you for doing something as stupid as eavesdropping.

He looked you over, his arms folded against his chest. The way he held himself made him look so much older than thirteen. It was amazing to think that the Earl Phantomhive was only a mere child.
But he was obviously capable and you didn’t doubt it had something to do with the silent butler that always stood by his side.

“Go get dressed. You’re coming with me.”

You blinked. Once. Twice. You could have sworn you heard him wrong until he groaned and rose his voice. “Hurry up!”

You faltered and turned on heel, running back up the stairs, stumbling several times. Go with him? Where? What did he think? Was he going to drop you off somewhere?

As you got into your room and began to get ready in a casual dress that was found in the closet, you couldn’t stop your mind from racing. Why did he sound so annoyed? There was no way this was going to end well.

Could you even hope for the best? Probably not.

God help you.
How many years has it been? Ahaha... I had to figure out how to work Deviantart again after all this time.
I don't know where this came from... I decided to just...type it. I hope you enjoy even though it's kind of a trash chapter. I had to set up the next thing to come.
Thanks for waiting.
